My husband and I go through a lot of pea protein for our workouts. We tried various brands and since they all source from China, decided to give this Canadian one a try. This is very good pea protein. It tastes very much like all the other pea protein out there, but more finely milled so you have to be careful scooping out of the bag. Because it's finely milled, it mixes a lot better without much of an effort. PEOPLE THIS IS NOT ALL IN ONE SMOTHIE MIX! THIS NOT GOING TO TASTE GOOD. YES THIS IS GOING TO TASTE LIKE STRAIGHT UP POWDER IN WATER. IF YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT DON'T LEAVE A REVIEW! I've had mine for several weeks in the same package it came in. I fold it and clip it at top, because we all know resealable bags don't always stay sealed. I use it every day and have had no problems with it turning rancid, having weird fish smells or anything of this nature so far. I will be repurchasing again next week and will update if I encounter any quality issues 4/20 /2019 UPDATE: Have been ordering this every month with no quality issues 11/4/2019 UPDATE: Still ordering as usual with no problems. Husband and I gaining muscle. So far we have ordered this 11 times! It breaks my heart to see people leave false reviews. I noticed some negative reviews about ingredients. I uploaded a photo of my current bag. First off, there is NO YELLOW FOOD COLORING INGREDIENT as one bad review was stating. Look at my package photo, clearly states Organic Yellow Pea Protein Isolate. 1 ingredient. I don't see no yellow food coloring as first ingredient anywhere??? Second, my package as you can see clearly says 90mg of sodium per serving (as advertised), NOT 310mg as some other review is claiming! In short, don't believe everything you read and just try for yourself. If It doesn't work for you, then it doesn't work for you and I'm sorry, but FOR THE LOVE OF GOD just tell the truth when you write your review

I wanted a vegetable protein, but not green pea (or nuts- peanut) so this yellow pea protein fit my needs. Peas grown in Canada and milled in the US according to the manufacturer with no loops in China, fwiw. No dairy, gluten or soy. Tests according to the manufacture for Arsenic, Cadmium, Lead, Mercury indicate low (<0.02 mcg) which to me are low, but I'm not sure what normal levels are in normal, such as normal ground water contamination. The tests were done by labs outside the company, Covance and Eurofins, which are respected labs in the Pharmaceutical industry and for drugs, methods accepted by the FDA. The gluten results are lower than those specified by the FDA as "gluten free". Nutritional (scoop = 3.5 tbsp (26 gm): 15 gm (2%) fat, 0 gm cholesterol, 90 mg Sodium, 35 mg Potassium. My use is to make protein shakes/smoothies. All veg proteins are a little gritty/chalky. This product is less so than the Terrasoul brand (to me anyway). I find it has little taste or smell when blended, and it is unsweetened. For the smoothies I mix with carob (Terrasoul) hemp milk (unsweetened) banana (or some other fruit), sugar free vanilla, sometimes add coffee (it is the morning smoothie). I think this smoothie comes in at ~120 cal. Sore smoothie in refrigerator in 8 oz plastic containers for ~ 1 week. Store powder in the plastic resealable bag it comes in. So far ~ 2 months and seems fine, no clumping or smell. Overall happy with this product. If you found the info and research above useful, please hit the "helpful button", it's motivational, thanks!

This product is more expensive than similar ones on Amazon because when you do the research you find out that this one is the only brand that sources the product from Canadian organic farms only. And not China or other countries. This is super creamy and doesn't have that gritty texture of some pea proteins. I actually like that it doesn't have any added anything including sweetness because it means I have the choice to add my favorite sweetener and don't have to worry about caffeine in my drink either (some may add green tea etc). All around a great product that I will be repurchasing.

I called almost all the pea protein brands customer service trying to find a company that doesn't do either two things: 1. Grew the organic peas in China or 2. Grew the peas in North America but then ship to China for processing & packaging. I was highly disappointed how many company ship organic peas grown in North America over to China for processing. Google Heavy metals in pea protein. I'm not interested in getting heavy metal toxicity from China poor farm lands when my goal is to detox. NorCal was the only brand that meet my two requirements. Thank You. I'm placing a 3rd order today, it's highly fine powder, no grit nothing else add which allows me to make various recipes as I prefer. At first, I thought I wouldn't like the plain unsweetened powder but I love it. Now I make all types of flavors with my smoothie from Mango to Coffee Camel. It really nice not have that strong vanilla and steiva flavors that overpowers. 5 STARS !!! THANK YOU FOR CREATING A CLEAN PRODUCT.

I kept reading and reading and reading about protein powders and how to avoid the ones with stevia...but I couldn’t. Well, until I came across this product. It blends effortlessly into a smoothie (frozen banana, milk & peanut butter). It does not leave a chalky, powdery taste like most. It does have a funky taste (it is straight up protein) if you do not add enough of other ingredients to mask it. I would consider trying this with the peanut protein to ease up on the taste. It is a great base to make your own protein powder that meets your own needs! Plus, it has all of the essential amino acids.
